20 months

Ezra just keeps growing and learning. He's almost 21 months and this past month his language just keeps growing and growing. Three, four and five word sentences, mostly commands, are audible to the entire family. It's been a lot of fun to hear he and Jonah have conversations in the car or at dinner.

Ezra has started using his very own proper pronoun, "I". He now says "I'm thirsty." or if he hears Jonah say it first it might be "I'm thirsty, too!!". He now pronounces his "J"s so Jonah is no longer "dada" he's now "Jonah". I am struck by the punctuation he puts into his speech. It's long and drawn out, and you have to wait patiently for him to finish his sentence. A favorite phrase is "Ready Down!!!" used when he's being held and wants to ... run.

He saw a pile of construction paper this morning and said, "Big pile. Knock it down?. Knock it down, please?" Who could possibly say no to that?

Ezra has also really started to enjoy his loveys these past few months. First it was puppy and now it is more typically "towel". It's really quite amusing but it helps him relax and that's what's important.

Ezra asleep with "towel".

Last week John put both boys to bed while I went off to a meeting. It was the first time Ezra fell asleep lying in bed with Jonah and John. It was, needless to say, a huge milestone for all involved. John was beaming.

Everyday the boys play peacefully a little bit more. Of course they still butt heads but I can relate as I did not get along swimmingly with my sisters all the time. Quite the opposite!

More to come soon as there is much more to share but I just wanted to get this month's notes started.
